Delhi: Massive arms haul busted, guns and bullets seized

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police special cell busted a major arms haul in the capital on Monday when it seized a consignment of 1800 cartridges, 9 double barrel and 2 single barrel guns in an operation near Sarai Kale Khan in south east Delhi.

"We had a tip-off about these suspects and a special team led by DCP Sanjeev Yadav was constituted to nab them. The team had laid a trap on the basis of the information. Three people have been arrested," said S N Shrivastava, special commissioner of police.

The cops are yet to arrest the receivers of these arms, sources said. The operation is continuing. This is the second major haul of arms this year. Earlier, cell had nabbed smugglers with 900 cartridges.
