A MUSICAL MORNING: Organized by Delhi Police and New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) along with Embarq India and supported by The Times of India, this edition of Raah giri Day at Day saw attendees sing, dance and mportance of sex learn the importance of sex education. While they get to dance their hearts out almost every Sunday, this time Raahgirs also got to enjoy two early morning jam sessions when singer Bhuvan Bam and Vishudh, a Delhi-based band, started jamming in the TOI arena. Raahgirs also witnessed some socially relevant performances by college students when Jijeevisha, the street play society of Lady Hardinge Medical College, and a group of students from CVS put up performances on sex education and Earth Hour, respectively. Soon after CVS students shout ed slogans of 'Battiyaan bujha do,' to create awareness about Earth Hour, LHMC students started with their street play that had slogans like, 'Dil mein hai, dimaag mein hai, par zubaan par aaye toh haww - sex.' par aaye toh haww - sex.'

CAN'T MENTION RELIGION OR EDUCATION AND SEX IN THE SAME SENTENCE: Meenal, a member of Jijeevisha, told us, "We know a lot of parents come here, and they generally don't expect anything but padhai from medical students, but we want them to know that since talking about sex is taboo in our society, this is what leads to child abuse and teen pregnancy at times. To make sure that the au dience doesn't get offended, we had to tone down some of our scenes that we otherwise perform in col lege fests. Some people get upset if you mention religion or edu cation and sex in the same sen tence. Delhi is the perfect city for a play like this. Of course some Delhiites still hesitate to talk about sex, there is also a certain degree of change that one can see happening in the city."

PERFECT FOR KIDS AND EXPECTING MOMS: We met some parents who are regulars at Raahgiri, and who were su per happy because their kids have finally started going with them for morning exercise as well as young mothers who want the Raahgirs' energy on their babies. Bhavna, from to rub off on their babies. Bhavna, from GK, who was cycling with her 22-month old, said, "This is the only place where you can cycle without worrying about safety."

Archana from Patel Nagar added, "I am almost eight months pregnant. I don't get to step out very often, but my husband agreed to come with me to Raahgiri be cause it's full of energy and at the same time, it is not cramped."
