Manisha Bhatia hosts Women's Day event in Delhi

Even though the Women's Day celebrations were delayed, nothing dampened the spirit of women, who were spotted congratulating each other on the Women's Day event hosted by Manisha Bhatia of the Abhinandan Educational and Welfare Society. She said, "Since Women's Day was on a Sunday , it wasn't possible for us to come together. It's difficult to step out on Sundays since we have so many responsibilities to fulfill and being a holiday, women are stuck at home finishing chores. So, we decided to celebrate later."

MEENAKSHI TALKS ABOUT THE NIRBHAYA DOCUMENTARY

MP Meenakshi Lekhi was the chief guest at the event. "It's a week of celebrations and I congratulate each and every woman here on the occasion."

Lekhi also raked up the issue of the banned rape documentary , India's Daughter, and said that filmmaker Leslee Udwin had misused the permissions to present a wrong image of India. She also said that the issue of rape was a deep-rooted problem everywhere in the world and there was no reason why India should be painted in that way .

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RINA!

Guest of honour at the do, designer Rina Dhaka, was spotted thanking people who were wishing her a happy birthday . Speaking about her plan for the day , the birthday girl told us, "I am not having a huge celebration because my son's having his boards and I have to nag him to study . Also, I am turning a year older, so I don't like celebrating it. However, my elder son, who is here from the US, is insisting on a celebration," she said.
