NEW DELHI: Stopping over at a local tea stall en route work cost 31-year-old Sonu Sejwal his life. Accidentally killed in Monday's shootout near Qutub Minar, he was the only support for his family.

His parents came to know of his death on Tuesday after relatives flooded their house. "Their health has deteriorated since they came to know about the incident, said Satish, Sonu's elder brother.

Sonu had been working on contract at a five-star hotel since the last three years. He left home early on Monday to meet his friends at the tea stall near Qutab Minar. He was supposed to go for his evening shift after that.

Satish, who works as a driver, got a call around 2pm saying Sonu had met with an accident and admitted to AIIMS Trauma Center. "When I got there, I was informed about his death," he said. Sonu was shot on the chest and below the armpit.

Father of a three-year-old child, Sonu had got divorced last year. He earned Rs 18,000 per month and gave his entire earnings to his family. Satish said Sonu had nothing to do with the property dealers involved in the incident.

Meanwhile, Sandeep, another injured, is in the ICU and his condition is said to be critical. He received a bullet injury in his abdomen. His younger brother said that Sandeep had gone to meet his friend at the stall.
