4 held for murdering woman

NEW DELHI: Four people have been arrested and police are looking for another person in connection with the murder of a 40-year-old woman whose body was found in a semi-nude condition, hung from a tree in a park in Uttam Nagar on March 29.

The accused told police that five of them had lured the woman to a park and wanted to take turns to assault her sexually, but killed her when she refused.

"The accused have been identified as Bir Pal, Mohammed Naseem, Jitender alias Jai Pal and Mantu Sharma. We are looking for Naresh alias Anna who has perhaps fled to Mathura," said DCP (west) Ranvir Singh.

A PCR call was received around 7am on March 29 after a passerby spotted the body in the park. The cops found that the body, which was partially covered, had injury marks. Blood soaked stones were lying nearby. The woman was identified as a resident of Rainbasera, east Uttam Nagar and a case was registered.
