The sun played hide and seek throughout the day after yesterday's rains and squall as the maximum temperature settled at 35.2 degree celsius, four notches below the normal level.
The minimum temperature settled at 23.5 degree celsius, two notches below the normal level, Meteorological department officials said.
The Met has also forecast thunderstorms in some areas tonight.
Humidity level oscillated between 58 and 39 per cent. The maximum temperature is expected to remain around 36 degree celsius while the minimum may settle around 24 degree celsius.
